1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Scavo ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Scavo provides automated website scanning, monitoring, and reporting services that analyze technical SEO, performance, security, accessibility, legal/compliance signals, and AI visibility of websites. The Service includes:

Automated website scans (scheduled and on-demand)
Uptime monitoring (frequency varies by plan)
Scheduled email reports and alerts when enabled
Dashboard access to scan results
Automated legal/compliance signal checks as part of the scan suite
Free website tools and calculators (including robots.txt and operational planning tools)
Practical fix guidance and remediation suggestions based on scan outcomes

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must:

Be at least 18 years old
Provide accurate and complete registration information
Maintain the security of your account credentials
Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
Notify us immediately of unauthorized access

4. Subscription and Payment

4.1 Pricing

Subscription fees are available in multiple currencies (GBP, USD, EUR) and are billed monthly or annually in advance. Current pricing is displayed on our website.

4.2 Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge your payment method for all fees incurred.

4.3 Free Trial and Charges

First-time subscribers currently receive a 7-day free trial. You will need to provide a payment method to start the trial, but you will not be charged if you cancel before the trial ends. When the trial ends, the subscription converts into the billing interval you selected unless you cancel first.

4.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of the billing period.

4.5 Price Changes

We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. New prices will apply at your next renewal.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for abusive, deceptive, unlawful, or clearly excessive scanning activity
Use the Service to attack, overload, fingerprint, or attempt unauthorized access to a website or underlying infrastructure
Use scanned results in a way that violates another party's rights, contractual obligations, or confidentiality commitments
Use the Service to conduct denial-of-service attacks or excessive requests
Attempt to circumvent usage limits or security measures
Share your account credentials with others
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
Use the Service for illegal purposes or to violate others' rights
Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

6. Service Availability and Limitations

6.1 Service Level

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

6.2 Scan Limits

Subscriptions include monitoring for a specified number of connected websites plus plan-based custom scan allowances. Current plan limits, trial details, and package allowances are shown on our pricing and billing surfaces.

6.3 Maintenance

We may perform scheduled maintenance with notice or emergency maintenance without notice. We are not liable for any downtime.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by Scavo and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not:

Copy, modify, or distribute our proprietary materials
Remove copyright or proprietary notices
Use our trademarks without permission

You retain ownership of the websites you scan. We only access them to provide the Service.

8. Data and Privacy

Our collection and use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy. If you submit a message through our contact page, you agree that we may use the details you provide to respond and support your request.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including:

Warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of scan results
That the Service will be error-free or uninterrupted
That defects will be corrected

Scan results are for informational purposes only. You are responsible for implementing any recommendations and verifying their appropriateness for your website.

Scavo provides automated technical compliance signals across selected frameworks, does not cover every legal obligation or jurisdiction, and does not provide legal advice. Compliance-related outputs are technical indicators only and are not legal opinions, legal representation, or a substitute for advice from qualified legal counsel.

Our automated checks are broad but not exhaustive. A pass result does not mean your organization is fully compliant with all laws, regulations, or contractual requirements.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCAVO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
Loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill
Service interruptions or data loss
Damages resulting from implementation of scan recommendations

Our total liability for all claims shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Scavo from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

Your use of the Service
Violation of these Terms
Infringement of intellectual property or other rights
Scanning websites without proper authorization

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for:

Violation of these Terms
Fraudulent or illegal activity
Non-payment of fees
Abuse of the Service

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may retain or delete account data in line with our Privacy Policy, operational retention windows, and legal obligations.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Service.

15. Miscellaneous

15.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Scavo regarding the Service.

15.2 Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.

15.3 Waiver

Failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver.

15.4 Assignment

You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them freely.
